Butte Community College offers a wide-breadth of articulation agreements with most universities in California. If your particular major is not listed below, then the four-year institution of your choice in California may accept just the completion of all [wikipedia]IGETC required courses. However, institutions such as University of California do emphasize that most lower-division requirements are met prior to transferring. Be aware that the UC system requires 2-years or 2 semesters of foreign language. 3-years of foreign language in High School may or may not be accepted. In all cases, it is important that you speak to a Butte College counselor about your specific situation as they can help guide you through the transfer process.

Butte Community College recommends that students who wish to transfer should begin the process one-year out. They provide workshops in October to help students along their way. In general, students will use the Internet to apply at both University of California and California State Universities. See [WWW]The Community College Advantage at University of California for transfer hints and tips.
