Devil in the Woods is an independent music label that started in Chico in the 1980s and eventually spawned a popular glossy print magazine and website. The label initially focused on releasing music by local and regional artists like The Vertels, Case for Radio, and Thornucopia. More recently, the label has focused on releases by national artists such as American Music Club, Fiver, Granddaddy, and others. Today, the label is based out of San Francisco.
