KZFR (popularly known as the Zephyr) is community radio station 90.1FM. KZFR is non-commercial radio for the Sacramento Valley. KZFR is owned and operated by Golden Valley Community Broadcasters, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt public benefit nonprofit corporation. They are located in the Waterland-Breslauer Building on the 4th floor. The business office is in room 402 and tends to keep regular business hours. Next door is the broadcast studio.
KZFR has a community calendar as a public service to Chico. Organizations can keep the community up to date on local events and other items of interest by faxing or hand carrying PSAs to the KZFR office. The community calendar airs weekdays at 6:55am, 10am, and 1pm.
The Zephyr has regular pledge drives and so all listeners are encouraged to donate no matter how small an amount!
KZFR's slogan is: "COMMUNITY RADIO FOR THE SACRAMENTO VALLEY, THE FOOTHILLS, AND BEYOND"
