Alumni Garden at Sapp Hall
Alumni generally refers to former students, usually only ones who have graduated. The word is the plural form of the Latin word for pupil: alumnus. When you are referring to a single male person, he is an alumnus. When you are referring to a single female person, she is an alumna. A group of people are alumni, unless the group consists entirely of females, in which case they are alumnae.
Although the term alumni is usually reserved for graduates, any person who has completed 30 or more units at CSU Chico is eligible to become a member of the Chico State Alumni Association.
